Mini-Drama Workshop (July 9)

The Liturgical Arts Program will conduct a Mini-Drama Workshop on Saturday, July 9, 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m., for Saint Matthews members ages 13-adults. The emphasis of the workshop will be scene and improv work with the use of prompts and props.

The United Women in Faith will have their Women’s Fellowship Saturday, June 25, at 11 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. To confirm your attendance, complete the registration form or contact Michelle Thompson, president, via email.




The Liturgical Arts Program is offering classes in handbells, wood blocks, cymbals, tambourines and more for children ages 4-8. Classes will meet on Thursdays (June 23, June 30, July 7 and July 14), 6-6:45 p.m. One adult (parent, grandparent, guardian, etc.) must remain with the class for the entire time. Register with Gwen Poole. 




After a two-year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Enrichment Committee is happy to announce a Summer STEAM Program will convene this year and will be open to youth ages 6-13–from the church and the community. The six-week program runs June 13–July 22, Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. The cost to participate is $85 per week plus a one-time $45 application fee. You may contact the church office to have an application mailed to you.

To help sponsor a child (or children), donations will be accepted through church offerings. Write “STEAM Summer Enrichment” on the special offering line of your church envelope or click on box next to this category for online donations.

Due to rescheduling conflicts, the New Members Orientation class will convene Saturday, July 9, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., in room 20. Members who joined between 2012 and 2022 are encouraged to attend. Registration will be required. This training is in accordance with COVID guidelines. Please contact the church office (336-272-4505) or Pamela Moye for additional information. 




During to the COVID-19 pandemic, please adhere to the guidelines listed below until further notice:

Welcome Back Saints! St. Matthews has opened the doors of the church for in person worship. We have resumed the two services: 8:30am and 11am with the exception of 10am on 5th Sundays.

Here are the basic logistics:  

    • All persons entering the church will be required to wear a mask while inside. If without a mask, one will be provided. If unable to wear a mask, an invitation to worship online at home or another location will be extended. 
    • Main Double Doors will be used as entrance while Britton Street and Breeze Way Doors will be used as exits. (Handicap Accessible Parking will be in the Britton Street Parking Lot with the Britton St door as an accessible entrance) 
    • All persons will be asked to sign in upon entry and have their temperature taken. You can sign in prior to coming to church via form on website.  
    • Collection Baskets will be inside the church for you to give your offering on the way in or out. Envelopes will be at the door.  
    • Communion cups for 1st Sunday will be provided as you enter the church, and we ask that you dispose of them on your way out.  
    • It is imperative that we allow the ushers to dismiss us according to guidelines in place.
