PASTOR RODVEGAS INGRAM, SR.

Rev. Rodvegas Marc Ingram Sr., a native of Albemarle, NC and a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, has been pastoring in the Western NC Conference of the United Methodist Church since 2001. He, both, obtained his MDIV from Hood Seminary and was commissioned as a Provisional Elder in 2005. Rev. Ingram was ordained an Elder in Full Connection in 2011. Currently, he serves as the Pastor of St. Matthews UMC in Greensboro, NC. Previously, he served Collins Grove UMC in Greensboro, NC for 9 years. He served in Rockingham County at the following churches for a total of 8 years: Chapel Hill UMC and Salem UMC in Reidsville, NC; St. John UMC in Eden, NC. Before coming to us, he served Memorial UMC in High Point, NC for 3 years. Rev. Ingram has not only served as a pastor, he remains a part of the Greensboro Cluster Choir and the Reidsville Community Charge Choir.

Rev. Ingram serves the community in collaboration with: High Point Peacemakers; High Point Ministers Fellowship; the Greensboro Cluster; and the NAACP. He serves the United Methodist Church through the following District and Conference Boards and Agencies: Chair of the Northern Piedmont District Board of Ordained Ministry; Secretary of the WNCC Brotherhood/Sisterhood; Member of the WNC Conference Task Force for Dismantling Racism; and Co-Coordinator for Social Justice in the WNC BMCR. Rod has been a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc, since his initiation in the Mu Zeta Chapter at UNC-Chapel Hill.

Rev. Ingram is a man who loves his family. Proverbs 18:22 says, “Whoso findeth a wife, findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord.” Rod found his good thing while he was a student at Carolina. He is married to his college sweetheart, Tamara McDowell Ingram. She serves as the Pastor of Bass Chapel UMC and Raleigh’s Crossroad UMC in Greensboro, NC. They are the proud parents of two sons, Marc (Charity) and Cameron Ingram. They are the proud grandparents of three granddaughters: Katelyn, Carmen, and Charlie Ingram.

Whether he is serving in the role of pastor, teacher, leader, singer, son, husband, father, grandfather, or friend ~ Rev. Rodvegas Ingram strives to live by the words found in Matthew 5:16, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
