Pastor Tamara M. Ingram

The spiritual principles of Faith, Courage, Tenacity and Godly Passion guide the life and ministry of Pastor Tamara M. Ingram.

She was called to the work of God at the age of 13 and with the help and favor of the Holy Spirit, she has been strengthened and anointed for the work of ministry. She is inspired by the words of Jesus in the sacred text of Luke 4:18-19: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed: To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

Pastor Tamara (Tammy) was born in Mount Holly NJ and raised in Greensboro, NC. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She continued her education at Hood Theological Seminary in Salisbury, NC where she graduated with honors with a Master of Divinity Degree.

Professionally, Rev. Tammy has over 33 years of management and corporate training experience; she worked for Aetna Insurance in its Greensboro, NC and High Point, NC locations and served as the company’s local Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator and its Southeast Regional Spokesperson. Pastor Tammy’s education, experience and ministerial calling to proclaim the Word and serve God’s people have all worked together to build the body of Christ. She has preached and ministered locally, regionally, and nationally, always proclaiming the Word with fire and passion. She preaches to lift Jesus so that men, women, boys and girls will be encouraged and edified. She preaches and teaches so that the unsaved will have a burning desire to know Christ as Savior. Most importantly, she preaches and teaches to lift Jesus so that God will be glorified.

Pastor Tammy was appointed to pastoral ministry in 2014. She is an Elder in Full Connection, and currently serves as the Senior Pastor of Saint Matthews United Methodist Church. She is elated to use her ministerial gifts to proclaim the Word of God to inspire her congregation to become faithful, fruitful disciples for Jesus Christ.

Additionally, she was recently appointed as the Convener of the Religion and Race within the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church. She is a servant of the Lord, and she is dedicated to representing Jesus Christ to the fullest, all-day, and everyday– readily serving God and the people of God.

Pastor Tammy is married to Rev. Rodvegas Ingram. They are the proud parents of 2 sons Marc (Charity) and John Cameron. Their latest and proudest titles are that of MiMi and Paw Paw to their 3 granddaughters: Katelyn, Carmen and Charlie.

Pastor Tammy seeks to do what God has called her to do in accordance with the scripture: 1 Cor. 9:16 that says …“For if I preach the gospel, that gives me no ground for boasting. For necessity is laid upon me. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel.”
