During the season of Lent, congregants and friends of Saint Matthews UMC are asked to donate 40 nonperishable food items (or one per day) to the Food Pantry.
Note: Monetary donations also will be accepted. Remember to select special on your envelopes or other online, then fill in “Food Pantry.”
The Food Pantry needs the items listed below:
- Canned goods (i.e., tuna, chicken (large), baked beans, black-eyed peas, carrots, chili, corn, diced tomatoes, fruit, green beans, mixed vegetables, pasta for children, pinto beans, soups, spaghetti/ravioli, and sweet peas)
- Other nonperishable items (i.e., bags of rice, boxed cereal, grits, jelly, peanut butter, and oatmeal)
Please bring your items to the church as follows:
- In front of Multipurpose Office during Food Pantry hours (Tuesdays/Wednesdays, 10 a.m.-noon, now through April 1)
- In front of Multipurpose Office before Worship Services (Sundays, March 1-29)
- “The Big Drive-thru Drop-off Day” in the Fellowship Hall Parking Lot (Friday, April 3, 3-6 p.m., curbside service only)
We are praying for 100% participation to fight local hunger.
