Creation Care Tip (September 2024)

Come clean with your washing machine! Older models use up to 40 gallons of water per load. With the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) doing the research and upping the standards, newer machines only use 31 gallons. Front-loaders require only 13 gallons. If you don’t have an energy-efficient model, be sure to run only a full load each time.

Due to the temporary closure of Swann Middle School, the additional support will go to another middle school at our Back to School Bash in August.

Please submit your financial donations to Saint Matthews United Methodist Church by Sunday, Aug. 4, via one of the following ways:

  • Saint Matthews UMC website: https://stmattchurch.com/
  • In-person donation(s) during the worship service
  • Present your donation to an Outreach Ministry co-chair — Ramona Miller or Cora Mathewson

Please reference BOOK BAG DRIVE on your donation, either by listing it on your offering envelope, noting it on the memo line of your check/money order, or selecting it on the church website.

Only financial donations will be accepted. The committee will purchase the book bags and supplies in bulk.

Thank you in advance for having the backs of the children and youth in our community!

Creation Care Tip

Shop for the story. Websites make it easy to know the values and practices of a company, as well as their products. Read the “About” tab. When you purchase from a business that is carbon neutral or zero waste, one that focuses on sustainability and fair trade in their supply chain, and/or one that gives back to nonprofit organizations that help heal the earth, you are making a difference.
