Saint Matthews will host the Volunteer Gun Turn-In with the Greensboro Police Dept. on Friday, June 7, 2013 from 8am-3pm and on Saturday, June 8, 2013 from 10am-2pm in Rm. 20, with no questions asked.

The Northern Piedmont District Board of Laity is sponsoring a workshop for Local Lay Leaders. We will present this workshop on three separate dates at three different locations to make it as convenient as possible for ALL Local Lay Leaders to attend one session. Saint Matthews UMC will award scholarships to all High School Graduates who are eligible.
Each recipient must be a member of Saint Matthews and have participated in one or more church organizations. All recipients must have been admitted to an accredited college, university, community college or state licensed accredited trade school and will attend. A copy of the letter of acceptance/admission from the admitting institution must be attached to the application.
Applications may be picked up in the scholarship mailbox in the multipurpose room. All applications must be submitted to Mrs. Carolyne Burgman or Dr. James Sibert by June 9, 2013.
On Monday, May 20, Pastor Beverly will be at Wake Forest University for the graduation of her granddaughter, Alycia Renee Beverly, and will leave for Hedgesville, West Virginia for the graduation of her twin grandsons, Christian and Joshua Beverly from High School.
She will return to Greensboro on Friday, May 24.
“Living Legacy” pictures are needed in preparation for our 147th Homecoming Celebration. If you are 80+ and would like to participate in this project, please provide a color or black/white photo to Ms. Pamela Moye no later than June 10, 2013.

The Greensboro City Council will honor Mr. Melvin Swann, Jr. at the May 7 City Council Meeting at 5:30pm with a resolution for his outstanding contributions to the community. The City Council Meeting will be held in the Council Chamber, 2nd floor, Melvin Municipal Office Building, 300 W. Washington Street, downtown Greensboro.
