Arnetta E. Beverly was born in Greensboro, N.C. and grew up in Lexington, N.C. She is the oldest of four children born to Elizabeth Dula Banks and the late Henry Paul Dula. Arnetta graduated valedictorian from Dunbar High School and attended the Winston-Salem State University School of Nursing. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Shaw University in Raleigh, N.C., her Masters of Divinity from Duke Divinity School in Durham, N.C. and her Doctor of Ministry Degree from Drew University in Madison, N.J.
Arnetta has pastored at Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church in Davidson County, Piney Grove United Methodist Church in Davie County, St. John United Methodist Church in Eden, NC and Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Reidsville. She served as the Director of Nurturing and Ethnic Ministries of the Western North Carolina Conference, as Northeast District Superintendent and Director of Connectional Ministries in the Western North Carolina Conference.
Arnetta is the mother of two sons, Russell Beverly of El Paso, Texas and Ronald Beverly, Jr. of Lexington, N.C. She has has eight grandchildren and makes her home with grandson, Matt. Her hobbies includes NASCAR racing, football, reading and swimming.
Arnetta’s personal philosophy is “To do the best I can for as many as I can in the time that God allows, knowing that through Christ, I can do all things.”
