Children’s Sabbath: Unleashing Joy (Oct. 27)

Saint Mathews UMC children/youth will lead the Children’s Sabbath Worship Services on Sunday, Oct. 27, at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. in the Sanctuary.

The worship services are the second of two Christ-centered community celebrations in October that will focus on relationship building activities while uplifting the concerns of homeless children and youth.

Your support is requested with the following:

  1. Prayer to bring people on close relationship to God and to each other;
  2. Prayer for all the children who are homeless/unhoused;
  3. Children and youth members bring hygiene items to be placed in backpacks for homeless children and youth for December distribution;
  4. Bring individually wrapped bags of candy to the church or give monetary donations designated to the “Children’s Ministry” by Sunday, Oct 20; and
  5. Volunteers for Saturday, Oct. 26, to set up the Trunk or Treat event (3-4 p.m.), pass out candy (4-6 p.m.), and clean up (6-7 p.m.).

For questions and/or to volunteer, please contact one of the committee members listed: Jasmine Williams, Ajalyn Baker, Michelle Thompson, Cheryl Little, Ramona Miller, Jennifer Lewis, Ouida Scarborough or Vallerie Boger Bass.
