Masking is now optional for the Saint Matthews UMC congregation and choirs, effective May 1. Other changes are listed below:
- The use of microphone covers will remain mandatory.
- People will continue to enter via the Narthex, unless mobility impaired.
- Ushers will be responsible for counting those in attendance.
- The temperature check machines will remain in place at the Narthex Doors but will not be required.
- During funeral services, program materials may be distributed to individuals by ushers wearing gloves; however, for all other services and events, program materials should be placed on a table outside of the Narthex doors for pickup.
- Capacity for the Fellowship Hall has been extended to 80. Eating will be allowed, but food must be prepackaged or catered.
- Key fobs will be collected and redistributed to lead ministry areas.
- The sanitation of the church will continue as previously scheduled until the trustees deem it necessary to modify.
On April 30, the Health and Welfare Ministry distributed COVID-19 home test kits at the Ministry Fair while supplies lasted.
