What better way to spend the first Saturday in October than at the Saint Matthews UMC 2024 Fall Festival!
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., visit with vendors such as N.C. A&T Cooperative Extension, Plug In America, Citizens’ Climate Lobby, Greensboro Beautiful, Try Healthy, United Women in Faith, WNCC Creation Care Team and others, for healthy food preparation demonstrations, an electric car show, healthy Halloween recipes for children and youth, vegetable giveaway and more. A bounce house, ice cream truck, pumpkin patch and recycling/upcycling* also will be on hand. Admission is FREE.
This year’s Fall Festival will be a fun approach to addressing serious health and environmental issues in our community. The event is hosted by the SMUMC Creation Care Ministry and Samaritan Garden Project.
*For the upcycling clothing giveaway, donated items will be collected Friday, Oct. 4, 4-7 p.m., in the Coley J. Hooker Fellowship Hall. Items should be gently used and freshly laundered or dry cleaned. Undergarments and swimwear will not be accepted.
