Mission Statement:

By creating unique opportunities, the Expanded Learning Program of St. Matthews enriches student academic experiences through technology and hands-on learning, encouraging students to pursue healthy behaviors, embracing strong schools, families and community partnerships by empowering students to achieve educational and lifelong success.

Goals:

• To assist students in performing at or above grade level as measured by state standardized tests and STEM standards.
• To provide enrichment opportunities that will promote lifelong learning, increase self-esteem, and community connections, by providing: healthy living skills, study skills, career exploration mentoring, and leadership skills to further community service.

CURRENT PROGRAM INFO:

STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) St. Matthews Enrichment Board sponsors the STEAM Camp annually, typically 6 weeks from June – July (see dates below for this year). The Summer STEAM Camp will be full of fun and excitement. The STEAM Camp will be challenging, educational and something very special for the participants AGES 7 to 13. Our curriculum will include Robotics, Computer Coding, Science, Engineering, Creative Writing, Dance, Drama, Swimming, Rocket Firing, 3D Printing, and interesting fieldtrips. The curriculum will be adaptable to ages of the camp participants. Healthy breakfast, lunch and snacks will be served daily. Parents this is a great opportunity for your children to enjoy a fun packed summer. All interested parents may pick up applications in the Narthex or the church office.
